About This Project
Peter Kempson, 93, was conscripted into the army in 1941 where he was a dispatch rider and drove Scammell Pioneer recovery wagons used to transport UK and US army tanks. Kempson fought in the battle of Arnhem, Holland, in 1944, where Allied forces were defeated by the Germans. He was involved in the D-Day landings in Normandy the same year.
Peter died in September 2015.
